Established in 1997, the Outpatient Clinic holds 4 primary healthcare clinics: Šilainiai I, Šilainiai II, Vilijampole Clinic with Geriatric Subdivision, Aleksotas Clinic, Romainiai Dispensary, also Consultation and Diagnostics centers. The Outpatient Clinic held 71,393 patients, 13,241 children among them on 1 st January 2008. The institution employs 552 people, including 184 physicians and 236 nursing specialists.
Services
The Outpatient Clinic organizes its works so that patients are examined and consulted within the institution, not being sent to other institution for additional tests, but directed to tertiary level hospitals only for complex examinations, consultations or in-patient treatment.
Physicians specialists – consultants have a possibility to examine patients with modern diagnostic X-ray, ultrasonic and endoscopic devices, digital X-ray scanning equipment, computerized cardiologic, respiratory function examination equipment, an audiometer, and modern eyesight testing equipment as well as computer-aided perimetry, tonometry, autorefractometry apparatuses and other devices.
The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation carries out early rehabilitation of children with development disorders, performs all procedures of electric therapy, paraffin, magnetic laser therapy, gives treatment with polarized lights as well as baths and magnesium therapy for the prevention and treatment of eye spasms and myopia, as well as salt inhalations, kinesitherapy and massages.
In 2006, the Outpatient clinic launched a Clinical Endodontology Training Center, the first of its kind in Lithuania, which performs qualified examination of endodontic patient, works out a treatment plan and provides treatment through the employment of the latest diagnostic and treatment means; furthermore, it organizes training and qualification advancement courses, seminars and practical workshops for odontologists – endodontologists and general practitioners odontologists.
Nursing services are rendered outside the Clinic as well. The services of nursing and social care at homes are being expanded. Active social workers give consultations at the Clinic and at patients' home.
